To Kill A Mockingbird
Having read this book three times for various reasons, we can confidently say a fourth read will not be happening. Trigger warning for you on this one. The main story limps along about the coming of age of two children. What appears to be the side story, which is arguably the more important one, is a frightening commentary on the racism that was so prevalent during the time (and in some places, still quite prevalent). That important message is buried in a sedate story with unnecessary and boring details about the lives of two white children. Our preference would be to read the story from the perspective of the Black experience.
