The Cliffs
The Cliffs has flickers of beauty in its language and setting, but overall it struggles under the weight of its own ambition. What could have been a haunting, layered saga is instead a drawn-out, uneven (often all over the place) read that never fully delivers on the expectations. It’s underwhelming and tedious as it attempts to weave together themes of identity, motherhood, and the weight of family history. However, the narrative meanders and slowly lumps along until you gratefully get to the end.
