The Friendship Pact
The Friendship Pact is a pleasant, easy read that is a perfectly agreeable way to spend a few evenings. In usual Shalvis style, it’s warm, witty, and comforting with a second-chance romance that parallels with the main character’s family drama. Unfortunately, the emotional baggage of the characters feels exhausting sometimes, and their stubborn resistance starts to feel, well, repetitive. It also doesn’t have as much of the witty humor that most of her other books have. Don’t count it entirely out though – it’s still a good read if you need something simply.
